Nursing Care of Clients who Experience Lack of Body Fluid Volume with Gastroenteritis at Budhi Asih Regional General Hospital, Jakarta

Abstract
Gastroenteritis is an inflammation of the stomach and intestines that gives symptoms of diarrhea with or without vomiting, and often accompanied by an increase in body temperature. Fluid volume deficit is decreased intravascular fluid, interstitial, and or intracellular. This study aims to implement nursing care of clients who experience deficit of body fluid volume with gastroenteritis. This study used descriptive qualitative design a case study approach with intervention. Participants in this study there are two people, ie clients 1 and clients 2. Participants in this case study include 2 clients, 2 families, and 2 nurses rooms, with the same medical diagnosis and nursing problems ie clients who experience fluid volume deficit of body with gastroenteritis. The result of the assessment shows the main complaint on clients 1 is liquid stool and frequency defecate six times a day but not found vomiting, on clients 2 not found vomiting, not found liquid stool, and frequency defecate four times a day, based on these data is established nursing diagnoses fluid volume deficit and electrolyte related to fluid output through normal route (diarrhea) on clients 1, and nursing diagnoses fluid volume deficit related to fluid output through normal route (diarrhea) on clients 2, carried out monitoring and record the expenditure and entry of liquids. The results of the evaluation data showed priority nursing diagnoses on the client fluid volume deficit of body are resolved on both clients. The conclusion of this research is the priority nursing problem on both clients are resolved by intake balanced with output, vital signs within normal limits, moist skin mucous membranes, and capillary refill 3 second.
