Abstract
Back pain is one of the most common complaints experienced by pregnant women, especially during the second and third trimesters. Warm compresses are a non-pharmacological method believed to be effective in reducing back pain. This study aims to determine the effect of warm compresses on reducing back pain in pregnant woman at PMB Mariam Pontianak. This research employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest approach involving 32 pregnant women experiencing back pain. Data were collected using a pain scale observation sheet (Numeric Rating Scale) before and after applying the warm compress. The paired t-test showed a p-value of 0,000 (<0,05), indicating a significant effect of the warm compress on reducing back pain. Warm compresses are proven to be effective in alleviating back pain in pregnant women and can serve as an easy cost-effective non pharmacological therapy alternative.
